How To Find An Image URL/Location

So, you've found the perfect picture on the internet and you want to get the link to it so you can use it on your MySpace profile or other area. It's pretty easy to do. I'm going to be showing you how in Internet Explorer, but that's OK because it's almost exactly how it's done in all major browsers.

Firstly, open up your browser and go to the web page that contains the image. It can be a picture or a graphic. Okay, so we've located our image. In our example, i'll be using my picture from my MySpace Profile.

Locate Your Image

Awesome. Now take your mouse and hover it over the image. Click your right mouse button and a popup menu will appear.

Hover Over The Image And Right Click To Show Menu

From this popup menu you want to choose 'properties'. You do this by moving your mouse over the menu and left clicking on properties. Once you do that, another popup item will appear. It should look something like this:

Choose Properties And Another Popup Will Appear

From this popup item, you want to copy the text to the right of 'Address (URL)'. I've highlighted the text that you should copy. The text you want to copy will be different for every image. I've highlighted this text to show you what to copy.

If you don't know how to copy or paste, read our tutorial on copying and pasting.

That's it! You now have the link to your image.
